Note: Other than PowerBI, all Microsoft 365 applications offered by the university are free. Any Office applications that have been purchased are not connected to the university and Microsoft Support should be contacted for related issues.
Warning: While you may use your NetID to install Microsoft office for free, DO NOT set up your personal device (laptop, computer, etc.) under your NetID@byu.edu. When you graduate, your email will be deleted, and you will lose access to admin responsibilities to your device.
Microsoft 365 is available for All Current University Students and Employees. Meaning that they should have access the day after they show as admitted. If an employee they must currently (this semester) work for the university. (A retired employee does NOT have access). The license enables users to install a full desktop version of Office applications on five (5) personal computers as well as five (5) Android tablets, iPads, or smartphones. Microsoft 365 includes both online and offline access to documents and editing. For download instructions see Access this Service.

The Microsoft Office Suite is available for all university-owned computers found in offices, labs, and other campus facilities and can be downloaded at http://software.byu.edu for free if not already installed. Simply log in with your NetID and password.
The following are available for download on up to 5 computers and 5 mobile devices for both Windows version (2016) and Mac OS version (2016):
***Group creation for Planner, OneDrive, and Teams is done either by Full-Time Employees, or by the Microsoft 365 Escalation team. A request may be submitted via the Technology Support Center. Contact them at 801-422-4000 or email at it@byu.edu.
