Guest Access Setup

Note: The new version of MyMap that rolled out in 2024 does NOT support Guest Access. A workaround for this is having the user who needs guest access obtain the necessary login credentials and sign in as if they are the intended user.

Guest Access Setup

Guest Access allows you to give another person access to your BYU account. You can grant access to selected accounts including your Academic, Financial, and Personal accounts. Additionally, you can establish approved modes of access, including online or "web access" and/or "telephone/in-person access.”

Why use Guest Access?

Guest Access can be a useful tool to allow someone to access your BYU account, and perform actions on your behalf. Guest Access is especially useful if you are going on a mission and have limited access to the Internet and your BYU account.

Note—This service requires pop-ups to be enabled in your browser.

How to Give Someone Access

  1. Get the BYU Net ID of the person you'd like to give access to.
  2. Sign in to BYU Guest Access.
  3. Go to the My Guests Tab and click the 'Add a Guest' button.
  4. Set up your guest's access.
  5. Note — Your guest will receive an e-mail invitation to accept access to act on your behalf.

How to Receive Guest Access

  1. Sign in to BYU Guest Access using your Net ID and password.
  2. Create a telephone access phrase (you will need to remember this).
