Campus Printer - How to install printers on Fedora 21 KDE Spin


  1. Open "System Settings" in the application launcher and click "Printers."

  2. Alternately, type "Printers" in the search bar.

  3. Enter your root password.

  4. Click "Add Printer."

  5. Enter your root password.

  6. Select "Internet Printing Protocol (ipp)" from the list of options (under "Other Network Printers").

  7. In the "Connection" field, type in the printer's IP Address and "/ipp" at the end. --When you are done, it should say "ipp://10.xxx.xxx.xxx/ipp", where 10.xxx.xxx.xxx is the printer's IP address.

  8. Wait for the list to be populated, then in the left list select "Generic."

  9. In the right list, scroll down to the bottom and select "PostScript Printer (en)."

  10. Enter the name, description, and physical location of the printer.

  11. Uncheck "Share this printer."

  12. Click "Finish." You're done!

    To Test:

  13. With "Printers" open in System Settings, click on the printer you wish to test.

  14. Click "Maintenance" and then "Print Test Page". If the printer is working correctly, a test page will print.
