Campus Printer - How to install printers on Fedora 21 KDE Spin
- Open "System Settings" in the application launcher and click "Printers."
- Alternately, type "Printers" in the search bar.
- Enter your root password.
- Click "Add Printer."
- Enter your root password.
- Select "Internet Printing Protocol (ipp)" from the list of options (under "Other Network Printers").
- In the "Connection" field, type in the printer's IP Address and "/ipp" at the end. --When you are done, it should say "ipp://10.xxx.xxx.xxx/ipp", where 10.xxx.xxx.xxx is the printer's IP address.
- Wait for the list to be populated, then in the left list select "Generic."
- In the right list, scroll down to the bottom and select "PostScript Printer (en)."
- Enter the name, description, and physical location of the printer.
- Uncheck "Share this printer."
- Click "Finish." You're done!
To Test:
- With "Printers" open in System Settings, click on the printer you wish to test.
- Click "Maintenance" and then "Print Test Page". If the printer is working correctly, a test page will print.
