Online Transcript Request allows transcripts to be requested using Parchment. Electronic copies can be requested and are delivered in PDF format to an email address specified at time of order. Hard copies can also be requested and mailed to any address.
This service can be accessed by going to https://registrar.byu.edu/transcripts. A valid Net ID and password are required to request a transcript using the online order form. If there is a transcript hold on the account, this probably means that information on file needs to be updated before processing the request. This can be done by contacting the Registrar's Office at 801-422-2631. Financial holds also need to be cleared before the request can be processed. When the request is being processed, users should select the "Send to Another Individual" option and then enter their personal email, because, if they select the "Send to Myself" button, it will send the transcript to the user's NetID@byu.edu email, which will no longer be active. If a user does send the transcript to their BYU email by accident, then they will have to contact Parchment (https://parchment.my.site.com/s/contactsupport?language=en_US) to get it resolved. This might get changed soon on Parchment's end.
Either Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat are required to view the transcript. Using another PDF reader will most likely produce a blank page when viewing the PDF. The PDF's have a security feature to prevent tampering of the file. When the PDF is opened it connects to the internet to make sure the file has not been tampered with. If the file has not been opened for more than 30 days, then an internet connection will be required to view the file.
If the alumnus cannot log in to Parchment via transcripts.byu.edu, try browser troubleshooting. Otherwise, contact Parchment support or transfer them to the Registrar's Office (801-422-2631) to order the transcripts without going through Parchment. When contacting the Registrar's Office, ensure the alumnus selects "Alumni" and then "Transcripts" in the phone tree.
