Duo - Mobile App Minimum Version Change on Feb 2, 2026


To address security concerns and risks, Duo will raise the required minimum version of the Duo Mobile App to version 4.85.0 after February 2, 2026. Affected users will either need to upgrade their Duo Mobile App or enable an alternate MFA mechanism like SMS Text Messages.
  

Users who can upgrade the minimum version of the Duo Mobile App.

If you are using a device that can upgrade to the minimum version of the Duo Mobile App (version 4.85.0), you will need to upgrade Duo on your device before February 2, 2026. Otherwise, you will only be able to use an SMS text messaged code for your BYU multi-factor authentication (Duo) requirement.

If you are using a device that is not supported by the new minimum Duo version you will need to ensure that at least one of the following Duo authentication options is configured before February 2, 2026 or you will not be able to login with your BYU account:
