- First, type and then highlight the text you want to be used as the link
- Once it is highlighted, click on the Link button

- In the new window, there is a drop down box titled "Link Type."
- For external links, choose URL and type in the URL in the text box that appears.
- For anchors, select Link to anchor in the text, and then select the anchor by the Anchor Name (which must have been created previously using HTML. See notes below).
- For email addresses, select E-Mail and input the email address and other information you want to include in the email.
- Click on OK and now the link should be active and clickable.
To change if the link is opened in the same tab, a new tab in the same window, or a new window, choose the option you want in the Target tab.
Notes:
- Creating an anchor is currently not available in the BYU Learning Suite: you must create it using HTML. W3Schools is a good source for help. Once created using HTML, the BYU LS will be able to see the name and you can easily link to that anchor, though.

- You can now choose to save it in a certain location in the Learning Suite if you so want. The default location is in the "Files" folder, but other folders you have added in the Home Tab under files will also be available. You may also add a description for future reference as well. Resizing by pixels is also available
- Click on Insert Image
- The image should now be inserted. At this time you can also drag and resize the photo.
OR
Drag the open image into the Assignment
To upload a photo in an Announcement:
- Drag and drop the open image into the Announcement
OR
- Find the desired image
- Copy the image (CTRL + C or right-click and select "Copy")
- Paste into the Announcement (CTRL + V or right-click and select "Paste")
Notes:
- Downloaded image files cannot be directly dragged and dropped into the Assignments or Announcement. Downloaded images must be opened before they can be dragged and dropped.
- An image can NOT be added to a Learning Outcome.

- Any additional HTML should be added/modified using the < source > button. For example, one can designate the size of the frame or add a border.
- Use the Preview tab to verify that the video plays correctly.
- If the video frame is not displaying: Chrome or Firefox may recognize the paths to other resources (external plugins, source files, etc.) as "insecure" and therefore will not display them. This can be remedied when the user tries to view the video by clicking on the shield icon that appears in the address bar.
