Email - Outlook on Mobile for Exchange Online (IOS and Android)

Install and Launch Outlook

Download Microsoft Outlook from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and open Outlook. 

 


Delete Existing Email Account Profile 

Note: Follow these steps if you need to delete an existing profile.

  1. From the Inbox page, select the icon in the top left corner directly to the left of "Inbox." (Depending on your account and device, it could be a pancake icon, a circle with your initials, or a photo.)



  2. Select the gear icon in the bottom left corner to access Settings.



  3. Select the Outlook account that you wish to delete.

  4. Select DELETE ACCOUNT at the bottom of the screen.



  5. Click DELETE to confirm the deletion

 


Create New Email Account Profile

 1. One of these screens may appear after downloading Microsoft Outlook and opening it. In both cases select SKIP. (On some devices you may see Maybe Later instead of SKIP. In this case, select Maybe Later.)

 

2. For "Email Address," enter your primary SMTP address and select Continue or Add Account, depending on the Outlook version.

*The primary SMTP address is typically <firstname.lastname>@byu.edu for employees and <netid>@student.byu.edu for students. It is the address that is given as the return address when you send an email. 

*NetID@byu.edu may also be used.

 

 

 3. If Microsoft Authenticator is downloaded on your device, this screen will appear. In this case, select Open Authenticator, and you will be redirected to the BYU authentication page.

 

 4. On the BYU authentication page, enter your NetID@byu.edu along with the password associated with your NetID.

 

 5. Authenticate through Duo.

 

6. Select Maybe Later.

 

 

 

 

 

 

7. After you have authenticated, you will arrive at this page. Select Skip or tap the arrow in the bottom right corner of the screen until your Inbox appears.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8. You will then be directed to the Inbox for your Outlook account. 

 


Additional Notes

Tasks - In order to see your tasks, you will need to download the Microsoft To-Do application in the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. You will be able to access them there.  

Contacts - In order to make Outlook contacts available in the native Contacts app, refer to the following steps:

  1. In the main Inbox page, click on the icon in the top left corner to the left of Inbox. (Note: Depending on the version of Outlook or the device, the icon may be a pancake icon, a circle with your initials, or a photo.)



  2. Select the gear icon in the bottom left corner to access Settings.



  3. Select the account from which you would like to sync your contacts.

  4. Select the Save Contacts option, and the contacts in the native Contacts app on your device will be updated from Outlook.
